Child Protection Jobs

The Work

Working in Child Protection covers a broad range of roles and functions to keep or remove children from harm. This includes critical intelligence activities and investigations at a national and international level into online child sexual abuse and exploitation.

The AFP-led Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE) was established in 2018 and drives the national collaborative approach to countering online child sexual abuse and exploitation. It works closely with the Joint Anti Child Exploitation Teams (JACETs) – the joint AFP and State and Territory police child protection teams located in capital cities across Australia.

What we do

  • Disrupt and prosecute those who seek to harm or exploit children
  • Remove children from harm
  • Target individuals and networks involved in online child exploitation
  • Engage with State, Territory and Australian Government partners, industry and non-government organisations to counter the online sexual exploitation of children
  • Keep children safe online through initiatives like the ThinkUKnow education program and PlayingITSafe initiative.
  • Lead the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation (ACCCE).
