Specialist and Support staff careers

The Work

Specialist and support staff in the AFP enable the work of the AFP’s front-line. There are specialist roles in Intelligence, Forensics, Fraud and Anti-corruption and Cyber-crime.  Support staff areas include Finance, Human Resources, Policy and Media.

Specialist and support staff eligibility requirements

In order to join the AFP in any role, you must meet a number of eligibility requirements: 

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the AFP’s core values 
  • Hold Australian citizenship and provide required documentation (passport, birth certificate, citizenship certificate) 
  • Be 18 years of age or older 
  • Complete an Employment Suitability Questionnaire
  • Provide your traffic history
  • Undergo security vetting
  • Undergo drug and alcohol testing. 

Specialist and Support staff careers

Specialist and support staff in the AFP enable the work of the AFP’s frontline. There are specialist roles in Intelligence, Forensics, Fraud and Anti-corruption and Cybercrime. More traditional corporate roles exist in the areas of human resources, psychology, health and fitness, finance, communications and media (to list just a few).
