How to join
- Train as a recruit (police officer or protective service officer)
- Successfully complete six months’ probation
- Upon completion of your recruit course, you will start work in SPC straight away. Police officers will need to successfully complete an on-the-job workbook (usually completed over a 12-month period).
To work towards specialist positions (e.g., close personal protection officer, tactical response officer, canine handler), you will then need to continue to gain experience and apply for a specialist position when advertised.
