What is the role?
Do you enjoy challenging work? We are looking for talented people to contribute to ACT Policing Statistics Team.
The ACTP Statistician - Performance Statistics team is responsible for research and evaluation and undertakes detailed analysis and interpretation of corporate and operational statistical information to enable AFP Management to monitor the performance and effectiveness/efficiencies of ACT Policing initiatives. As a Team Member in the AFP you will be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?
- Analyse and interpret corporate and operational statistical information.
- Undertake research and analysis projects of operational and other related data and contribute.
- Produce comprehensive performance and management reports for ACT Policing Management
- Provide statistical consultation services to internal/external clients and stakeholders
- Coordinate and manage requests for ACT Policing statistical information from members of the public/researchers, ACT/Commonwealth Government Departments and Agencies
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships and professional networks with internal/external clients and stakeholders and promote information sharing
- Contribute to a 'best practice' standardised format for the collection, analysis and interpretation of crime information
- Represent ACT Policing at internal/external forums.
Essential Requirements
- You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
- A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Has contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role.
- Knowledge of SAS and experience in the practical application of statistical analysis techniques and methodologies.
- Tertiary qualifications, or equivalent in the areas of statistics/econometrics/mathematics or a closely related field.
