What is the role?

 

The CIO Command is a trusted frontline partner that enables policing through problem solving and technical expertise and excellence. The CIO Command provides corporate application, ICT end to end solutions, advice, cyber security and infrastructure that underpin AFP activities. The CIO Command aims to be a highly collaborative, innovative, reliable and trusted enabler for all Commands across the AFP. The products and services delivered are user focused, secure and fit for purpose, while supported by a highly skilled, agile and resilient workforce.

 

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the following roles within the Chief Information Officer (CIO) Command:

 

  • Band 7 - Business Readiness Officer within the Enterprise Systems Uplift (ESU) section
  • Band 8 - Business Readiness Manager within the Specialist Capability Systems (SCS) section

 

Working as a member of a multi-disciplined project team responsible for the delivery of outcomes and benefits for the AFP, you will be required to contribute to organisational transformational change with a strong focus on stakeholder collaboration and communication in alignment with project objectives and the AFP. The role will provide business readiness services to projects and Scrum teams developing and implementing technical capabilities and process improvements.

 

You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and AFP Governance Instruments. The successful applicant is expected to deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?

 

In this role you will:

 

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify, develop, plan, implement, and support the successful adoption of project-driven change initiatives.
  • Develop business readiness assessments, engagement plans, training strategies, and communications and support material.
  • Coordinate business readiness, communication, and training activities in accordance with the AFP change management and communication approach.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with project team members, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Coordinate and facilitate workshops, deliver presentations, and provide training.
  • Monitor and report the adoption of change initiatives.

Essential Requirements

 

  • You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
  • A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • High level writing, editing and presentation skills.

 

In addition, the following requirements will be applicable for the role:

 

Band 7 - Business Readiness Officer

 

  • Minimum of six years’ experience in a like or related field.
  • Relevant industry certification/tertiary qualifications, and/or experience as an Organisational Change Manager.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills and experience.

 

Band 8 - Business Readiness Manager

 

  • Minimum of six years’ experience as an Organisational Change Manager.
  • Organisational Change Management industry certification/tertiary qualifications.
  • Proven experience evaluating change management activities for continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to lead engagement efforts.

Desirable Requirements

 

The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:

 

  • Thorough knowledge of Agile methodologies, especially scrum and DevOps, and the ability to effectively contribute to scrum teams consistent with scrum principles and values.
  • Experience in facilitating workshops, delivering presentations and providing training.
  • Leadership skills and experience with mentoring, coaching and training.
