What is the role?
Applications are sought from suitability qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Communications Officer/Trainer within Professional Standards. The role is predominantly responsible for developing education and awareness strategies, including training material and packages relating to the integrity of the AFP and its personnel. The role will be required to regularly present to AFP staff locally and across the regions in the context of integrity in the AFP, the role of the Professional Standards portfolio and the Integrity Framework.
You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.
What will you do?
As part of the Integrity Intervention team, the Communications Officer/Trainer focuses on enhancing the integrity culture of the AFP through the development and delivery of appropriate strategies in the context of integrity development and education across the AFP. This work may include:
• Researching, analysing and formulating solutions to existing and emerging knowledge gaps relating to the integrity of AFP personnel, the AFP and the Integrity Framework.
• Developing and maintaining training and communication packages.
• Delivering face-to-face and/or online training to AFP personnel in the context of the integrity of AFP personnel and the AFP and reporting obligations.
• Consulting and liaising with all areas of the AFP and external stakeholders on issues surrounding integrity training.
• Maintaining currency in subject matter expertise through ongoing professional development and learning opportunities outside the formal education process.
Essential Requirements
• An NV1 Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
• High level written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to present to small and large groups.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects.
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a small team and autonomously.
Desirable Requirements
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is highly desirable.
• Tertiary qualification in communications or marketing or equivalent work experience is highly desirable.
• Experience in or an understanding of integrity, risk management and the Integrity Framework.
Additional Information
This role is based in Canberra, ACT. The applicants are expected to be based in the ACT or relocate to the ACT at their own expense.
This is a support pattern position and does not attract a composite.
