What will you do?

  • Implementing and maintaining an effective AFP financial governance and assurance framework
  • Providing advice on AFPs financial governance framework
  • Drafting the Commissioner’s Financial Instructions and other governance instruments.
  • Implementing the Finance and Audit Committee endorsed annual compliance review program
  • Administration of grants processes, review of grant funding agreements.
  • Maintenance of the hospitality and entertainment logs and gifting register

What is the role?

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Finance Officer, within the Finance Governance Team for the AFP. The Finance Governance Team is responsible for implementing the financial governance and assurance framework for the AFP, including financial policy, compliance, and legislative reporting. The successful applicant will work with the business to ensure the governance framework meets legislative requirements as well as the needs of the business, and minimises the impact of administrative processes whilst maintaining AFPs high standards for integrity and accountability.

We are looking for someone who is organised, has good attention to detail, good customer service skills and familiarity with Microsoft Excel and SAP.

You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. 

Essential Requirements

  • You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
  • A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Has contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role.
  • Relevant qualification or extensive experience and knowledge in area of expertise.

  • This role is an AFP Band 5 level role
