What is the role?
Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Team Member, IT Business and Vendor Management.
The Team Member role is part of the IT Business and Vendor Management Team, within the Chief Information Officer (CIO) Command. This position supports procurement and contract management activities for systems, networks, technologies and resourcing that underpin the enterprise capabilities of the organisation. The CIO Command is responsible for delivering end to end solutions, advice and infrastructure critical to AFP operations.
We are seeking highly motivated and organised individuals who are able to work effectively under limited direction to deliver efficiencies, achieve value for money, reduce risk and maximise effectiveness of contracts in support of AFP operations and activities, through their procurement and/or contract management expertise. This role has a focus on developing, leading and overseeing compliant and innovative procurements to provide better contracting outcomes and/or managing contracts and vendor relationships, to ensure compliance and protect the interests of the AFP.
You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
What will you do?
The role of the IT Business and Vendor Management Team Member is to provide support to CIO Command business areas for procurement, vendor and contract management related services. Duties may include:
- Lead and/or provide advice on full procurement lifecycle and contract management related activities, in accordance with Commonwealth & AFP policies
- Prepare/review procurement and contract documentation, including quality review prior to presentation for financial delegate decision
- Manage and/or provide advice specific to software, hardware and labour hire procurements
- Deliver efficiencies, cost savings, innovation and improvement within the procurement and contract management process
- Process contracts, purchase orders, confirmation receipts and other administrative tasks with AFP systems and processes for the purchasing of goods and services
- Prepare and maintain contract management plans and co-manage select contracts with business partners
- Perform quality assurance & data integrity checks of internal systems and documents
- Maintain current skills and knowledge in procurement and contract management, and proactively monitor trends in the information technology industry through ongoing professional development
Essential Requirements
- You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
- A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) AFP security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Has contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role.
- Relevant qualification and/or minimum 2 years' experience in a related field and knowledge in Government procurement & contracting.
- Sound understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and Public, Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act.
Desirable Requirements
The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:
- Attention to detail in developing and reviewing procurement and contractual documentation.
- Stakeholder management and engagement skills, and the ability to communicate and maintain internal/external relationships.
- Certificate IV in Government Procurement and Contracting qualification.
- Previous experience in Labour Hire procurements within a Commonwealth Government context.
- Previous experience using the Digital Transformation Agency Marketplaces.
Additional Information
- This role is located in Canberra, however remote working options may be negotiated in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth. Successful applicants are expected to be based in the relevant locations.
