We're rolling out new integration technologies and uplifting legacy systems to modern integration solutions. Plenty of new projects to keep you busy and existing ones to support. Technical Specialists provide expert consultancy within their area of expertise to develop and promote technical solutions which support the business requirements of the AFP. A Technical Specialist role does not hold any leadership or financial delegations. As a Technical Specialist in the AFP you will ensure the achievement of outcomes are in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?
As an Enterprise Integration Technical specialist, you will directly influence the technical evolution of the AFP’s integration capability, supporting the agency to meet current and future challenges. Key Responsibilities will be to:

- Provide technical leadership and guidance to stakeholders and project teams.
- Align effort to broader strategy and capability roadmaps ensuring that the AFP’s integration environment is fit-for-purpose and complements other systems and capabilities.
- Oversee integration patterns including APIs, middleware, and event-driven workflows.
- Lead technical members through demonstrations, mentoring and skills sessions where required.
Essential Requirements
- You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
- A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Has contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a like or related field.
- Relevant tertiary qualification or extensive experience and knowledge in area of expertise.
Desirable Requirements
The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:
- Has broad exposure, experience with various integration / Automation tools, including IBM Cloud pack for integration, and Kafka.
- Ability to create and work with Architecture teams to create appropriate integration designs.
- Experience working in Azure, Red hat
- Strong demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Makes recommendations for improvement or selection of tools/techniques for use in such work as integration solutions and upgrades and advises or teaches others about appropriate tools/techniques for the task at hand.
- Using identified organisational development plans, determines what actions are required to continue professional development within the work type.
- Proven history of knowledge sharing, mentoring and upskilling team members
Additional Information
- National travel may be required.
- Positions can be worked from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra, Brisbane or Perth. Successful applicants will be expected to attend the office as required, with some flexible working from home arrangements considered.
