Role Summary

The Band 5 team member role works collaboratively with the team to develop and deliver security related educational material, security awareness induction training and governance. The role also triages and evaluates SIRs and identifies trends that contribute to the development of security related educational material. This includes liaising with internal and external stakeholders while ensuring compliance with the PSPF, CO9 and other relevant guidelines.

 

 

The Security Triage and Training team is the central coordination point for security prevention and assurance, including the management of security incident reporting, and the delivery of proactive security education and awareness training activities. The Security Triage and Training team provides effective and efficient operational, strategic and policy advice on security issues. 


In support of the AFP security framework the Security Triage and Training team:


•    Promotes security awareness and sound security practices among AFP personnel;
•    Develops and delivers security awareness training aimed at prevention and detection of security breaches;
•    Coordinates statistical reporting of security incidents, including analysis of key trends to influence change;
•    Develops and maintains governance including Commissioner’s Orders and National Guidelines and processes to support a robust security culture;
•    Receives, assesses and triages Security Incident Reports and other security reporting; 
•    Promotes organisational compliance with the mandatory provisions of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF); 
•    Manages and maintains security based policy and AFP HUB information pages;
•    Develops and markets security awareness material based on gaps identified through security reporting;
•    Coordinates security advice through the Security hotline and the Security-Triage-and-Training team mailbox; and
•    Develops key strategic documents for internal and external Executive committees and briefings. 

 

 

You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

 

 

 

Desirable Skills

 

  • You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
  • A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
