If this sounds like you, we encourage you to submit your application for the ACT Policing’s Register of Interest. This register will be used to fill existing and upcoming vacancies across several portfolios of ACT Policing —including a variety of Administration Assistant roles within the Corporate portfolio and Executive Assistant roles throughout.

As an Executive Assistant or Administration Assistant with ACT Policing, you will provide crucial support to senior leadership, including Managers, Commanders, National Managers, and Assistant Commissioners. These roles involve a mix of office management and support tasks—prioritising workflow, organising travel, managing diaries, and acting as a central point of contact for the broader management team.

 

As Band 3 Executive Assistant or Corporate Administration Assistant, suitable applicants would possess the skills and abilities to:

  • Thrive in a support role, quickly building effective working relationships with members of the AFP Executive and their teams;
  • Demonstrate solid interpersonal skills and the foresight to meet the needs of senior leaders;
  • Possess strong organisational abilities, efficiently managing competing priorities and delivering high-quality work;
  • Apply judgement and a practical approach to problem-solving, maintaining integrity and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential matters;
  • Balance multiple tasks, adapts to changing circumstances, and remains composed under pressure.

Desirable Skills

Essential Requirements

  • You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application
  • A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one

 

Desirable Requirements/Training

  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, manage a high workload and show initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team
