Role Summary

 

Payroll Services sits within the Business Services branch, which is a multifaceted branch within the Chief Financial Officer Command. The AFP Payroll Services deliver fortnightly pays to over approximately 8,000 employees using SAP. We have a complex and fast-paced operating environment, which means that there is never a dull day and always something new to learn.

 

Working in Payroll Services is an important contribution to the frontline endeavors of the AFP that leaves a positive impact on our members. You will learn more about the exciting work that the AFP does in Australia and overseas to deliver on our mission to protect Australians and Australia's interests.

 

As a member of the Payroll Services team, you will work in the administration of conditions of service and entitlements for AFP employees including processing of pay, leave and superannuation. This team supports the delivery of payroll services to AFP employees by processing payroll transactions, providing advice on pay related matters and monitoring areas of risk.

 

What will you do?

 

Payroll Services team members are responsible for:

 

• Day to day payroll processing, including calculation of employee entitlements to strict deadlines.

• Undertaking general administrative duties associated with the provision of payroll services to the agency.

• Working collaboratively with your team to deliver high quality payroll service.

• Participating as a constructive team member to deliver ongoing improvements, quality of service and professional practices and standard.

• Building subject matter expertise through on the job training and learning opportunities.

• Communicating outcomes in line with AFP's Enterprise Agreement and related legislation, policies and procedures.

• Contributing to a positive and energetic team culture.

• Interpreting and providing information to staff related entitlements and conditions of service in line with the Enterprise Agreement and related legislation, policies and procedures.

• Further develop subject matter expertise through ongoing development and learning opportunities.

Requirements

 

Essential Requirements

 

• You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.

• A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

• Contemporary Payroll, Superannuation, Human Resources, Corporate and/or Finance experience.

 

Desirable Requirements

 

• Experience with Payroll Systems such as SAP or similar.
