What is the role?

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Senior Team Member Travel Support (Band 5). 

 

Business Services sits within the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Command. It is a multifaceted branch, which directly contributes to AFP operational outcomes, providing support and enabling our people to deliver maximum impact to the criminal environment. The experience you bring to the role will benefit the organisation by:

  • Providing high-quality corporate services to the AFP (supporting the frontline).
  • Managing and implementing business and system improvements to remove barriers, speed up decision making and increase efficiency (reducing red tape).
  • Providing training and help desk facilities to enhance partnerships, engage and work closely with both our members and external stakeholders (enhancing partnerships).

 

The Senior Team Member provides high-level advice and assistance to AFP appointees regarding travel (domestic/international), corporate credit card management, FlexiPurchase expense system and CTM booking tool support, and Per Diems. These services are delivered in line with the Whole of Australian Government travel arrangements and AFP guidelines, in a cost effective and efficient manner.  

 

You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?

 

Reporting to the Team Leader Travel and Relocations. The Senior Team Member is an integral member of the Travel and Relocations Team.

 

You will be required to:

  • Conduct routine and ad-hoc compliance activities within FlexiPurchase on AFP Corporate Card use in line with the National Guideline on using the AFP Corporate Card and National Guideline on Travel and Living Away from Home.
  • Provide FlexiPurchase, AFP Corporate Card and Travel support to AFP members via telephone and email.
  • Assisting the Team Leader with drafting reports on statistics and non-compliance for escalation to Senior Executive and the AFP Compliance Team.
  • Consulting and liaising with all relevant areas of the AFP and external stakeholders on complex policy and significant financial compliance.
  • Maintaining currency in all associated governance for travel and corporate cards including National Guidelines and policy documents.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of corporate policies, processes and systems which enhance the delivery of AFP operational outcomes.
  • Actively contribute to the establishment and attainment of team goals. Proactively identify opportunities to promote continuous improvement and facilitate cooperation.
  • Operate in a dynamic environment to meet evolving organisational needs and effectively managing competing demands.

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrated technical expertise and knowledge of key systems and applications; specifically, SAP, FlexiPurchase, CTM and Excel.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills to liaise with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and/or maintain positive internal and external networks.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a small team, and can complete tasks with limited guidance.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the governance framework as it applies to the team objectives.
  • Experience and understanding of WoAG Travel Arrangement policies.
  • You must be an Australian Citizen.
  • A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one. 

Desirable Requirements

  • An ability to ensure outcomes are achieved in line with the strategic direction of the AFP and priorities of Business Services;
  • Experience in training and development of other team members;
  • Maintaining currency in subject matter expertise through ongoing professional development and learning opportunities outside the formal education process.

  • This role is an AFP Band 5 level
