What is the role?

 

As a ServiceNow Developer you will be joining a collaborative technology team to support the on-going initiatives of the ServiceNow platform at the AFP. The role sits within the ServiceNow Capability Team within the Enterprise Policing Systems Branch of the CIO Command.


You will be responsible for the design, development, testing and implementation of ServiceNow solutions working closely with stakeholders and business analysts to deliver outcomes for the AFP. These solutions will be developed applying iterative techniques and agile methodologies. It will involve maturing the development capability using existing and emerging processes, frameworks and tools. The successful applicant will contribute to the successes of an agile, multi-disciplinary team focused on delivering business value and continuous improvement in accordance with agile methodologies, scrum principles and industry best practice.

 

As a Team Member in the AFP you will be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?

 

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of ServiceNow Developer at the Band 6 levels. We aim to fill existing positions and create a pool of suitable applicants for future vacancies.


The role includes:

 

  • Ensuring outputs are achieved within the strategic direction of the AFP.
  • The development and implementation of ServiceNow solutions to support designed workflows.
  • Maintaining technical documentation including designs and knowledge articles.
  • Participate in testing, troubleshooting, and deployment activities.
  • Monitor platform performance and participate in upgrades.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and contribute to team roadmaps.
  • Providing guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team.
  • Maintaining currency in information technology processes and technical knowledge through ongoing professional development.

Essential Requirements

 

  • You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
  • A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Experience working with the ServiceNow Platform and best practice coding standards.
  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow architecture and application model.
  • Ability to develop and configure business rules, UI policies, scripts, ACLs, and Flow Designer.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other relevant programming languages.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and the ability to effectively contribute to scrum teams in a manner which is consistent with scrum principles and values.
  • Experience with testing of application code.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Requirements

 

The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:

 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry certifications or suitable industry experience.
  • Relevant ServiceNow Certifications including ServiceNow Certified System Administrator.
  • Integrations experience (API & REST).
  • Experience in the use of Azure DevOps.
