What is the role?
Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role as ServiceNow Team Member at the Band 5 level. Opportunities for a ServiceNow Developer, Business Analyst and Tester are currently available.
As a ServiceNow Team Member you will be joining a collaborative technology team to support the on-going initiatives of the ServiceNow platform at the AFP. The roles sit within the ServiceNow Capability Team within the Enterprise Policing Systems Branch of the CIO Command. The Branch is responsible for developing and supporting a range of business applications and systems. Providing critical integrated, secure and effective information and communication systems and services to the AFP.
The ServiceNow team aligns to the Agile framework, operating as a cross-functional Scrum team focused on delivering a usable Increment each Sprint. As a ServiceNow Team Member you will contribute across analysis, build, and testing to deliver the working, tested modification or enhancement.
You will be integral in assisting the design, development, testing and implementation of ServiceNow solutions working closely with stakeholders and business representatives to deliver outcomes for the AFP. These solutions are developed applying iterative techniques and Agile methodologies. It will involve assisting in maturing the development capability using existing and emerging processes, frameworks and tools. The successful applicant will contribute to the successes of an agile, multi-disciplinary team focused on delivering business value and continuous improvement in accordance with Agile methodologies, Scrum principles and industry best practice.
AFP appointees contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet requirements of the position as outlined below.
What will you do?
Duties across the ServiceNow Developer, Business Analyst and Tester positions include:
- Ensuring outputs are achieved within the strategic direction of the AFP.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of ServiceNow solutions to support designed workflows.
- Maintaining technical documentation including designs and knowledge articles.
- Participate in testing, troubleshooting, and deployment activities.
- Assist in identifying improvement opportunities and contribute to team roadmaps.
- Maintaining currency in information technology processes and technical knowledge through ongoing professional development.
- Supplying advice, services and work products to business areas seeking to improve or enhance their business processes and cutting red tape.
- Designing, developing, testing and deploying improvements into the ServiceNow platform using the Agile methodology.
- Troubleshooting ServiceNow production environment issues; perform root cause analysis and recommending resolutions.
- Collaborating with other team members to interpret business requirements for future ServiceNow enhancement opportunities.
- Maintaining currency in information technology processes and technical knowledge through ongoing professional development.
Essential Requirements (all roles)
- You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
- A Negative Vetting 1 security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Contemporary knowledge of the ServiceNow Platform and best practice coding standards.
- A technical interest with Agile/Scrum methodologies and the ability to effectively contribute to scrum teams in a manner which is consistent with scrum principles and values.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry certifications or suitable industry experience.
- ServiceNow Certifications including ServiceNow Certified System Administrator.
- Experience in the use of Azure DevOps.
