What is the role?
The SAP Team is part of the Foundation Capability Systems Section within the Technology Operations & Chief Information Officer Command and is responsible for both developing and supporting the SAP suite of applications (including Quintiq and Success Factors) and the relevant interfacing systems utilising Agile methodologies. The SAP Team manages the full SAP standard development life cycle, with resources available in the team to analyse, develop, configure, test and deploy changes, as well as managing SAP Basis (which is the technical foundation that enables SAP applications to function).
Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Software & Applications Programmer - SAP Payroll. You will ensure the achievement of outcomes are in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. Technical Specialists provide expert consultancy within their area of specialism. They develop and promote technical solutions which support the business requirements of the AFP, within their area of expertise. A Technical Specialist role does not hold any leadership or financial delegations.
What will you do?
- Configure and unit test upgrades and legislation changes
- Analyse, correct and unit test identified issues and defects
- Undertake parallel pay runs
- Undertake system and data integrity testing
- Analyse and maintain SAP HR/Payroll system documentation
- Provide transitional support at the go live stage following major upgrades/changes.
- Work flexibly and collaboratively with SAP Admin Help and Support and Payroll Services teams
- Support the SAP Testing Team to ensure accurate testing for both BAU and project activities
- Mentor junior team members to ensure appropriate knowledge transfer takes place
- Assist in the provision of relevant HR and Payroll SAP system training, as and when required.
- Assist in the provision of relevant HR and Payroll reporting, as and when required.
- Record and maintain files/information in accordance with AFP requirements
- Provide frank and fearless advice to business regarding SAP HR/Payroll system issues and changes to ensure system integrity despite competing business priorities.
Essential Requirements
- You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
- A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Relevant qualification or extensive experience and knowledge in SAP ECC HR/Payroll.
- Has contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role.
Desirable Requirements
The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:
- Experience in SuccessFactors and/or S/4HANA would be an advantage.
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or related field (IT, Software Engineering, Mathematics, etc) would be an advantage.
