What is the role?

Sitting within the Technology, Strategy and Data branch, the Digitisation Project is responsible for developing, implementing and enhancing the AFP's Digital Records Management Solution (DRMS).

The implementation of the new DRMS provides an exciting opportunity to work with all stakeholders across the organisation to modernise information management practices to support transition to enhanced digital ways of working.

To support the new DRMS systems, we are seeking a highly experienced and motivated individual to lead the highly specialised platform administration aspect for the DRMS implementation and ongoing performance.

As a Technical Specialist in the AFP, you will ensure the achievement of outcomes are in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. 

Technical Specialists provide expert consultancy within their area of specialism. They develop and promote technical solutions which support the business requirements of the AFP, within their area of expertise. A Technical Specialist role does not hold any leadership or financial delegations.

What will you do?

The role will work in collaboration with and under supervision by nominated AFP personnel to:

  • Manage DRMS systems within the AFP Azure platform / tenancy (multiple environments) in accordance with environment management protocols. These are:
    • OpenText Content Manager
    • Castlepoint
    • Other branch systems, as required.
  • Support Kubernetes/Docker administration.
  • Monitor of DRMS servers and services.
  • Facilitate, coordinate and test DRMS patching, upgrades and testing in conjunction with vendors, in line with AFP change, support and technical protocols.
  • Work together with AFP business users, system engineers, integration specialists and Cybersecurity specialists to improve and optimise the performance, use, management and support of DRMS systems.
  • Issue and problem resolution coordination with vendors and AFP technical resources.
  • Comply with, and manage, any technical change in line with the AFPs change management practices.
  • Enforce and adhere to all levels of compliance in the Enterprise ICT environment.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of solution design, technical governance and standard operating procedures.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-skilling with other AFP technical peers to ensure adequate resource support coverage across the DRMS and other branch systems.
  • Record and maintain files/information in accordance with AFP requirements.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Essential Requirements

  • You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
  • A current AFP Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Relevant qualification or extensive experience and knowledge in area of expertise.
  • Demonstrated experience (5+ years) in the Platform Administration domain.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability and eagerness to take the initiative to learn new technologies quickly.

Desirable Requirements

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Demonstrated experience with Digital Records Management System administration.
  • Formal qualifications from a recognised tertiary institution or demonstrated equivalent skills and experience in Information Management or related field.
  • Strong demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Proven history of knowledge sharing, mentoring and upskilling of team members.
  • Ask relevant questions, find effective solutions, act with integrity, and always prioritise the customer.
  • Deliver excellent service independently but work collaboratively to achieve outcomes where required.

Additional Information

  • This role is based in Canberra, however, remote working options may be negotiated for the right candidate.
  • If outside the ACT, domestic travel will be required for this role to suit AFP business and project requirements, as agreed in advance.
