Deployment Management sits under the portfolio of International Command within the AFP. International Command protects Australians and Australian interests through cooperation with key international partners to:
- combat transnational organised crime and corruption
- respond to emergencies
- participate in mandated peace operations
- provide law and order capacity building missions to enhance rule of law internationally and contribute to regional stability
- contribute to Australia's border management and security
Deployment Management provides forward-looking human resource policies, strategies, training and processes to best support employees operating internationally both now and into the future. Deployment Management operates under a tiered service delivery team model and as such, provides subject matter expertise to deliver coordinated solutions and command level services.
As a Team Leader you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic team delivering a range of outcomes, services and strategies to the AFP International Command. You will play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual.

We are looking for an experienced leader who has:
• Well-developed expertise in human resources practices including recruitment, policy and training processes.
• Demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice and support employees in an International setting.
• Well-developed organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Sound research and analysis skills and the ability to identify and connect emerging trends and issues.
• Well-developed stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to develop productive working relationships.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills that foster trust and cooperation.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fluid environment, remaining flexible, agile and adaptable and supporting colleagues at short notice.
Essential Requirements
- You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
- A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Demonstrated Leadership experience
- Relevant work experience in an HR generalist or specialist role.
Desirable Requirements
The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant field.
