What is the role?
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and dynamic leader to join the AFP in a role responsible for the delivery of dedicated and specialist end-to-end procurement services.

Band 7

Band 8
As a Senior Team leader you play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual. The role of Senior Team Leader includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Managing a leading a multi-disciplinary team delivering a centralised procurement and contract management service through a business partner model
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to achieve organisational outcomes that are delivered in accordance with CFO Command strategic priorities, regulatory frameworks, and the AFP Code of Conduct.
- Managing allocated resources, setting work priorities, developing strategies and evaluating business outcomes
- Identifying and driving performance improvement including by measuring organisational performance
- Developing team members and providing support and advice
- Providing HR and management support to team members and supervisors
- Building and sustaining relationships and liaising with a range of stakeholders including other teams, peers and colleagues internally and externally to the AFP
- Provide sound advice to business (including the Senior Executive) on ways to improve of enhance their business practices
- Ensuring appropriate action is taken to anticipate, communicate, investigate and resolve problems in systems and services
- Represent Central Procurement Services at various inter and intra agency meetings as required

Essential Requirements
- You must be an Australian Citizen.
- A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Demonstrated expertise, experience and contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role.
- Relevant qualifications or extensive experience and knowledge in area of expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
Desirable Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in delivering applicable corporate services
- Knowledge of government and industry strategic initiatives
Additional Information
- This is a AFP Band Level 7-8 position.
- The roles are ideally based in Canberra, however consideration to work in one of the AFP’s National Office locations may be negotiated;
- We support flexible work arrangements, however it is expected that the successful applicants will work from the office at least 2-3 days per week for team connectivity and collaboration;
