What will you do?
As a Team Leader you also play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual. Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.

Essential Requirements
- You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
- A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Relevant qualification or extensive experience and expertise in Information Technology or closely related field.
- Demonstrated ability to lead high performing teams or extensive leadership experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to translate between business and technical people.
- Excellent organisational, negotiation and conflict management skills.
- Ability to identify opportunities for change and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Have contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a like or related field.
Desirable Requirements
- A strong understanding of digital technologies and appreciation of technical methodologies.
- Thorough knowledge of Agile methodologies, especially Scrum and DevOps, and the ability to effectively contribute to scrum teams consistent with scrum principles and values (including assisting the business in prioritising their business requirements or product backlog).
