What is the role?
Applications are sought from high motivated individuals to be considered for a vacancy as a Band 3 Team Member within the Property and Exhibits (PE&E) Registry at AFP Sydney Headquarters. The P&E Registry is involved with the maintenance of an evidence storage facility and the management of exhibits and property in accordance with AFP Legislative requirements.
This position presents an ideal opportunity for motivated applicants seeking to contribute and provide support to operational outcomes of investigative work undertaken within Eastern Command. The successful applicant will report to Team Leader P&E Registry.
This role predominantly supports investigations through the maintenance of a secure evidence storage facility, and management of exhibits and property in accordance with AFP Legislative requirements. The role requires the occupant to have proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to work effectively independently, and as part of a team, is essential.
As a Team Member in the AFP, you will be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
What will you do?
The role assists AFP business through the provision of a variety of support functions to operational tasks. This work may include:
- Manual handling of exhibits contained within storage and warehousing facilities;
- Utilising AFP systems to interrogate, input, collate and retrieve data;
- Making sound decisions and achieving outcomes;
- Ability and willingness to liaise and work flexibly across a number of functional portfolios when required;
- Provision of advice to AFP Investigators on property & exhibit processes to ensure quality and accuracy of AFP data systems and evidence management;
- Compliance with legislative requirements for handling, packing, labelling, storage, transport and safe disposal of property and exhibit seizures;
- Undertaking a range of property and exhibit administrative support tasks or other tasks as directed;

Essential Requirements
- You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
- A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Desirable Requirements
The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:
- There is a physical element to this role involving manual handling of a range of items including bending, kneeling, and lifting within appropriate limits.
- Certification in First Aid, Handle Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Substances, and Manual Handling or the ability to gain certification.
- Current Drivers Licence/ Forklift Licence.
- Experience and Knowledge of WHS requirements in a warehousing and Storage environment and commercial waste disposal processes.
- Prior experience in handling and management of exhibits in a law enforcement or compliance environment.
